The Lockheed C-130 Hercules is one of the most iconic and longest-serving transport aircraft in the world. Its development began in 1951 based on a U.S. Air Force requirement for a new tactical transport aircraft. The first YC-130 prototype flew in August 1954 and has since become the backbone of airlift in dozens of countries. The C-130H variant, which is the subject of this model, has become the most widely used version. Its production began in 1964 and an improved version was introduced in 1974. The C-130H was equipped with more powerful Allison T56-A-15 turboprop engines, improved avionics, and structural modifications. Its reliability and versatility allowed it to perform a wide range of missions, from troop and cargo transport, to humanitarian relief and special operations.

This 1:144 scale model from Great Wall Hobby features the high level of detail and precision craftsmanship that is typical of this manufacturer. The kit contains parts for the construction of the C-130H variant, which was produced in the largest numbers. There are several optional features for the modeler, such as two sets of propellers (four-bladed and eight-bladed), which allow to capture the aircraft from different operational periods. The rear cargo ramp can be assembled in either the open or closed position. Other handy accessories include masking tape for the windows and windshield, as well as nose weights to properly balance the model.

The kit does not contain paint or glue. These essential items must be purchased separately.
