The Tiger I was one of the most famous tanks of World War II. Its first mass-produced units, designated as “Initial Production,” were deployed beginning in the summer of 1942 during the Battle of Leningrad and subsequently appeared in North Africa under the command of Field Marshal Erwin Rommel. The tank was characterized by a combination of heavy armor and a powerful 88 mm KwK 36 cannon, which enabled it to effectively destroy any Allied tank of its era from a great distance.
The early versions of the Tiger I differed from later variants in several details—for example, in their road wheels, exhaust covers, and specific turret features. Despite its technical sophistication, the tank suffered from complex maintenance and mechanical problems; nevertheless, it commanded respect among the Allies and became a feared opponent on the battlefield.
The Border Model 1/35 scale kit offers the opportunity to build three different early-production variants of the Tiger I (3-in-1), allowing modelers to recreate vehicles deployed in various environments—both on the Eastern Front and in North Africa. The model is highly detailed, featuring a finely engraved surface and authentic design elements.
The kit does not include the paints or adhesives needed for assembly.
