1/48 P-47D-10RE Thunderbolt. Advanced Kit
MiniArt 1/48 P-47D-10RE Thunderbolt Advanced Kit is a detailed 1/48th scale model of an American WWII fighter aircraft. The Thunderbolt was one of the most powerful and durable Allied fighters and the D-10RE version represents one of the early production variants with the classic "razorback" fuselage. The kit offers a richly detailed interior and armament and allows you to build an authentic likeness of this famous machine.
The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt became one of the most widely used and important fighter aircraft of the U.S. Air Force during World War II. It entered service in 1942 and became a respected adversary thanks to its massive design, powerful Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine, and eight 12.7 mm machine guns. It was capable of flying at high altitudes, escorting bombers in raids on Germany, and...and proved to be an effective fighter-bomber in attacks on ground targets.
The P-47D-10RE version was one of the earlier D-series variants and was characterized by a "razorback" fuselage shape with a high dorsal behind the cockpit. This design provided structural strength, but limited the pilot's rearward vision, which was later addressed by the introduction of a droplet-style overlay on later versions. Nevertheless, the P-47D-10RE became an important machine during the fighting of 1943 and contributed significantly to USAAF offensive operations in Europe.
The Thunderbolt quickly gained a reputation as a durable aircraft capable of withstanding heavy damage and returning safely to base. Its combination of high dive speed, powerful armament and large bomb load capacity enabled it to operate effectively against German fighters and ground targets.
MiniArt's 1/48th scale Advanced Kit offers a detailed rendition of the P-47D-10RE, including realistic cockpit interior, landing gear, engine and armament. With precision craftsmanship and an abundance of fine detail, it provides modelers with the ability to create an authentic replica of this important Allied fighter aircraft.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
