The Renard R.31 “Belgian Reconnaissance Plane” is a 1/48-scale resin model kit from CMK.
A Belgian high-wing observation aircraft whose service was cut short by the Wehrmacht’s invasion of Belgium. It is the only Belgian-designed aircraft that saw active combat during World War II. Virtually all of the aircraft were destroyed in defensive battles. The main parts are cast from resin and supplemented by 3D-printed parts. The decals feature aircraft from the 9th Escadrille and the 11th Escadrille. Both units used the head of a Sioux as their unit insignia, one on a blue background and the other on a red background.
The resin parts require trimming, test fitting, and gluing with a suitable adhesive. Paints, glue, and tools are not typically included in the package.
Recommended accessories
- glue for resin and plastic models
- primer to even out the surface before painting
- model paints for camouflage and details
- patina and weathering to highlight signs of wear and tear
