1/32 Ki-84 Otsu recommended for Hasegawa

The Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate (codenamed "Frank" by the Allies) was one of the best Japanese fighter aircraft of World War II. It entered service in 1944 and was designed as a response to the increasingly powerful American machines. The Hayate combined high speed, good maneuverability, and powerful armament, making it a formidable adversary in the final phase of the war. The Otsu version (Ki-84-Ib) differed in armament - it carried four 20mm Ho-5 guns instead of the machine gun and gun combination of the basic Ko version. This configuration increased firepower, which was crucial in combat against both heavy bombers and fighters. For modelers, the Ki-84 is interesting because of its elegant design, historical significance, and the opportunity to rework one of the last successful Japanese designs of the war.

Yahu Models offers a laser-cut instrument panel as a replacement for the plastic part from the 1:32 scale Hasegawa kit. The part is made of thin material (usually plywood or special cardboard) with precision-baked instrument holes and details to better match the actual cockpit structure. Installation requires careful removal of the parts from the support frame, sanding the edges if necessary, and gluing them into place in the cockpit according to the Hasegawa kit instructions. The panel can be left in its natural wood shade or repainted with a color matching the interior Japanese(typically dark green, black or dark grey) and then highlight the details with a dry brush, washes or pigments. The instrument dials can be completed with decals (if included or available separately) or hand-painted.

The use of laser-cut parts greatly improves the visual impression of the cockpit, especially on open cockpits or models with transparent covers where the interior is easily visible. The package does not include paint or adhesives needed for installation.
