1/32 P-39Q Air Cobra
Brand: Kitty Hawk

The Bell P-39 Airacobra was an American single-seat fighter aircraft developed by Bell Aircraft during World War II. The aircraft was characterized by its unconventional layout with the engine located behind the cockpit and driving the front propeller via a long shaft. This arrangement allowed the installation of heavy armament in the nose of the aircraft, including a 37mm cannon. The P-39Q version was the last major production variant, replacing the original four 7.62mm machine guns in the wings with two 12.7mm machine guns mounted in nacelles under the wings. The P-39s were widely used by the Soviet Air Force, which received them under the Lend-Lease program, and achieved considerable success on the Eastern Front.

The Kitty Hawk 1/32 P-39Q Airacobra kit offers modelers the opportunity to build an authentic replica of this important aircraft. The model features detailed parts with fine engraved panels and riveting, a realistic cockpit with instrumentpanels and pilot's seat, and accurately modelled weapons bays with the ability to open to view internal details. Also included are clear parts for cockpit glazing and sensors, photo-etched parts for fine detail, and decals for several markings, including American, Soviet, and French aircraft. A detailed build manual provides clear instructions and recommended colour schemes for each version.

It should be noted, however, that some reviews point out some challenges in building this model. For example, assembly of some parts may require careful testing and adjustments to achieve proper melding. Some modelers also point out minor inaccuracies in the instructions, which may require additional research and verification. Despite these challenges, the model is appreciated for its high level of detail and the ability to build an authentic replica of a significant aircraft.

The precision craftsmanship and historical significance make this kit ideal for modelers with an interest in military aircraft and aviation history. The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
