1/32 SBD-3 Dauntless one-sided express fit mask for Trumpeter
ASK Express Fit masks for the SBD-3 Dauntless in 1/32 scale, one-sided and intended for the Trumpeter plastic kit. A sheet of masks 1–50 covers the outside of the windscreen and the long canopy panes.
ASK developed the set itself, directly for the clear parts of the SBD-3 version in the Trumpeter kit in 1/32 scale. Sheet ASK 200-M32091 from the SCALE MASK range carries triangular and curved windscreen masks (1–4), dozens of rectangular masks for the canopy panes and shaped masks for the side panes (27–30, 45–48). They follow the clear parts of the SBD-3; a separate set, 200-M32089, covers the SBD-5/A-24B. The double-sided version is 200-M32092.
In 1942 the SBD-3 Dauntless was the main dive bomber of the American carriers. Its crews played a decisive part at the Coral Sea and at Midway, where Dauntlesses sank four Japanese aircraft carriers. The masks are intended for the Trumpeter kit in 1/32 scale.
