1/35 British B-Type Armoured Lorry - Miniart
The British B-Type Armoured Lorry is a 1/35th scale model of a WWI British Army armoured truck based on the popular B-Type bus. The kit offers a detailed rendering of the armoured cab, hull and chassis, and faithfully captures the technology of early armoured warfare. The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
At the start of the First World War, the British Army was faced with the need to quickly improvise armoured vehicles for transporting men and supporting infantry. One solution was to convert the popular London B-Type buses into armoured trucks. These vehicles received armour plating in the cab and cargo area and were deployed primarily on the western Front, where they served as transporters, mobile observation posts or command posts in the trenches and rear areas.
The model captures this unique conversion with a high degree of historical fidelity. It features detailed construction of the engine compartment, cab interior and rear covered compartment, realistic sheet metal surfaces and the typical appearance of early Great War equipment. Its unusual silhouette and believable workmanship make the model suitable as a distinctive element of a WWI diorama or as a stand-alone exhibition piece.
