1/35 Jagdpanzer IV L/70(A) MID - Border Model

The Jagdpanzer IV was a German tank fighter developed on the basis of the Panzer IV tank chassis to strengthen the anti-tank power of the Wehrmacht. Initial versions were armed with the 75 mm Pak 39 L/48 gun, but with the advent of more heavily armoured Allied machines, especially theon the Soviet T-34/85 and heavy IS, it was decided to install the longer 75mm Pak 42 L/70 gun, taken from the Panther tank fighter.

The L/70(A) version was a transitional solution produced from mid-1944, when standard Panzer IV chassis with a higher silhouette were used to speed up production. The "Mid" version already included some design modifications such as reinforced armour, additional wheel covers and improved armament details. The Jagdpanzer IV L/70(A) Mid took part in combat on both the Eastern and Western Fronts, where it provided strong fire support and posed a dangerous adversary for Allied tanks.
