1/35 Pz.Kpfw. II Ausf. A2 - German Light Tank
IBG 1/35 Pz.Kpfw. II Ausf. A2 is a plastic model of an early version of the German light tank from World War II. This detailed 1/35th scale kit depicts the construction of the machine that formed the backbone of the Panzerwaffe in the late 1930s and during the invasion of Poland.
Light tank Panzerkampfwagen II Ausf. A2 was created in the mid-1930s as a transitional solution until more modern types became available. However, in its time it was an important element of the armament of German armoured units. Armed with the 20 mm KwK 30 gun and the MG 34 machine gun, it became standard equipment for tank divisions during the campaigns in Poland in 1939 and in France in 1940.
The Ausf. A2 differed from the first series by reinforced armour and partial design modifications. Nevertheless, it was still a lightly protected machine, designed primarily for reconnaissance and infantry support. Once the more powerful Panzer III and IV tanks were introduced, the Panzer II gradually began to be relegated to secondary roles, but it remained deployed on many fronts in the first half of the war.
IBG' s 1/35th scale kit offers the precise shapes and fine surface details of this early version. It is suitable for both stand-alone construction and dioramas depicting the first phases of WWII.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
