1/35 Pz.Kpfw. II Ausf. a3 - German Light Tank
IBG 1/35 Pz.Kpfw. II Ausf. a3 is a 1/35th scale plastic model construction kit of the German light tank from the beginning of WWII. The model depicts an early version of the Panzer II, which played an important role during the invasion of Poland and the campaign in France.
The Panzerkampfwagen II Ausf. a3 light tank was the third production run of the early Panzer II, produced in the second half of the 1930s. Compared to the previous versions a1 and a2, it featured reinforced armour, improved chassis and minor modifications to the internal layout. The tank was armed with a 20 mm KwK 30 cannon supplemented by an MG 34 machine gun, which allowed it to effectively support infantry and perform reconnaissance tasks.
At the outbreak of World War II, the Panzer II formed the backbone of German armoured units. The Ausf. a3 version took part in the fighting during the attack on Poland in September 1939 and subsequently during the Western campaign in 1940. Although it was a machine with limited resistance to heavier anti-tank armament, it played an important role in the early stages of the war and contributed to the successes of the Blitzkrieg.
IBG' s 1/35th scale kit offers detailed renditions of this early variant, including accurate hull and turret shapes. The fine detail makes it ideal for both stand-alone construction and dioramas from the early period of WWII.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
