Hobby Boss 1/350 Type IXA U-Boat is a plastic kit of a submarine for assembly. The ocean-going Type IXA boats formed the first series of the German Type IX family for long-range operations. The prototype carried six torpedo tubes, four forward and two aft, and a 105 mm deck gun. This kit depicts the IXA rather than the later IXC.
Separate upper and lower hull sections are supplemented by plastic sail and armament components. Photo-etched parts provide the railings and stand and require handling and bending fine metal pieces. The result is a static full-hull display model. Paints and glue required for assembly are not included.
Nationality: Germany. Period: World War II.
