1/350 Ka-31 HELIX
The Trumpeter 1/350 Ka-31 Helix is a set of six plastic kits of the shipborne early-warning helicopter. The fuselages are moulded in clear plastic and the remaining parts in black; the decals carry red stars and numbers.
The Kamov Ka-31 is a shipborne early-warning helicopter carrying a large radar antenna under the fuselage, which is lowered and rotated in flight. Like other Kamov types it uses two contra-rotating coaxial rotors, so it needs no tail rotor and stays compact for operations from ships.
Box 06228 contains six sets of parts in clear and black plastic, one per helicopter. According to the box the finished model is 41.8 mm long and 40.1 mm wide. The shared decal sheet titled Russia Navy Aviation provides red stars and sets of numbers in several colours.
The miniatures are intended to complete the air group of a Russian warship model in 1/350 scale, where their distinctive silhouette with the radar antenna brings the flight deck to life. Paints and glue required for assembly are not included.
