1/48 Airfield tractors standard N mod. 1938

The Standard N Model 1938 was one of the small but indispensable pieces of equipment that ensured the day-to-day running of airports. Whilst the aircraft themselves usually attract the most attention, it was precisely the tow tractors and similar support vehicles that enabled the efficient movement of aircraft, trailers and materials across the airport aprons. These small vehicles were used for towing aircraft, handling cargo and operating on runways and aprons, and thus became a typical feature of the airport environment during the Second World War. For modellers, they are the ideal addition to bring both a display piece and a larger diorama to life, lending them an authentic atmosphere of bustling activity.

The MiniArt 1:48 scale kit contains two Standard N Mod. 1938 tow trucks, allowing for a variety of compositions — from a pair of vehicles in action to their integration into a wider airport scene. The high level of detail is enhanced by photo-etched parts, which allow for the faithful reproduction of fine structural elements that could not be achieved with the same precision using plastic alone. The included sheet of decals is used to finish and mark the models. Thanks to its 1:48 scale, it will complement the range of aircraft and other equipment in the same scale well and will become a natural part of any airport display.

The 1:48 scale allows for detailed modelling even on such small vehicles, whilst being large enough to ensure comfortable assembly and painting. Vehicles of this type typically feature operational weathering reflecting the demanding conditions of airport service — dust, grease, paint scuffs and worn edges. The paints and adhesives required for assembly are not included in the pack.
