1/48 Bf.109W-1 experim.floatplane (+rolling carriage)
The Messerschmitt Bf 109W-1 Experimental Floatplane 1/48 scale model by A&A Models is an experimental German seaplane version of the famous Bf 109 fighter aircraft. This prototype was developed to test the aircraft's deployment capabilities from the water. The kit includes detailed plastic parts, float landing gear, transport trolley and decals for the test unit. The package does not include the paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
The conversion of the famous Messerschmitt Bf 109 to a seaplane version was an experimental project as part of the Luftwaffe's efforts to expand the possibility of deploying fighters in places without runways. A version of the Bf 109W-1 was fitted with two large floats instead of landing gear and tested in 1940, but was eventually not included in theproduction because it proved less effective than existing naval aircraft.
The A&A Models 1/48 Bf 109W-1 kit features precision machined plastic parts with fine engraved panels, realistic cockpit, floating landing gear and a rolling carriage that allows the model to be presented both on water and on land. The model includes decals for the Luftwaffe test unit.
The unique subject matter makes this model ideal for modelers interested in experimental and unusual variants of WWII aircraft.
The package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
