1/48 Curtiss Kittyhawk Mk.I Pacific battlefield RAAF part I
ASK 1/48 Curtiss Kittyhawk Mk.I Pacific battlefield RAAF part I is a decal sheet with four aircraft of Nos. 75 and 76 Squadrons, Royal Australian Air Force, from the Pacific fighting of 1942–1944.
The ASK 1/48 decal sheet is dedicated to RAAF Kittyhawk Mk.I fighters in the Pacific theatre. It contains four options:
- Kittyhawk A29-382, SV-R, No. 76 Squadron RAAF, Momote, flown by S/Ldr Leigh Bowes
- Kittyhawk A29-78 “Bloody Mary”, No. 76 Squadron RAAF, Gurney airfield, Fall River, August 1942
- Kittyhawk A29-114, C, No. 75 Squadron RAAF, Port Moresby, New Guinea, January 1943
- Kittyhawk A29-377, SV-P, No. 76 Squadron RAAF, Port Moresby, New Guinea, 1943–1944
Kittyhawk was the British and Australian name for the Curtiss P-40 fighters; the first Australian Kittyhawks were P-40Es. No. 75 Squadron RAAF flew them in the defence of Port Moresby in spring 1942 and, together with No. 76 Squadron, at the Milne Bay airfields in New Guinea in August and September 1942.
