1/48 F-4A-1 Recon Lightning Conversion Set
CMK 129-4398 is a 1/48 resin conversion set that turns the Tamiya P-38F/G kit (61120) into the F-4A-1 Lightning photo-reconnaissance version. It contains a new nose, clear resin parts and decals for two aircraft.
The F-4A-1 was the first reconnaissance version of the P-38 Lightning to see combat, carrying cameras in the nose instead of guns. CMK conversion 129-4398 therefore provides a new resin nose and camera windows cast from special heat-treated clear resin.
The decals cover a USAAF machine operating from New Guinea and an RAAF aircraft flown from bases in northern Australia. The set is designed for the 1/48 Tamiya P-38F/G kit No. 61120, which is not included.
