1/48 F-4D PHANTOM II

Brand: Zoukei - Mura

SWS48-07 1/48 F-4D Phantom II - Inner Structure brings a detailed kit of the late version of the Phantom with a faithfully detailed inner structure and a set of configuration options corresponding to the deployment in the 60s-70s. The model allows you to see the changes to the avionics and on-board systems (FCS, INS, guidance and bombing instruments), the various antenna variants and equipment used in Vietnam and later, including ECM and Pave Knife/Laser designators.

The McDonnell Douglas F-4D Phantom II in SWS's "Inner Structure" version is designed for modelers who demand a high level of technical and historical detail. The basis of the model focuses on a faithful representation of the internal parts and modular systemsand offers the opportunity to build a Phantom with configurations appropriate to real-world deployment in the 1960s. and 1970s.

Major changes and restored systems that this kit faithfully reproduces include upgraded avionics and instrumentation: Switching the Flight Control Systems (FCS) from AN/APQ-100 to AN/APQ-109, replacing the inertial navigation(INS) from AN/ASN-48 to AN/ASN-63, and the installation of the AN/ASQ-91 bombardment computer along with the AN/ASG-22 targeting instrument. These elements had a major impact on the ability to accurately guide weapons and deploy as an attack bomber.

The model also offered a variant of the external arrangement: some aircraft were equipped with a LORAN-D antenna (called the Some of the antennas used in the Vietnam operations were equipped with a "Towel Hanger" antenna, while others carried sectional RHAW antennas for passive radar warning. SWS also paid attention to the display of weapons and support systems: Pave Knife (AN/AVQ-10) and operational laser designators combined with laser-guided bombs, complete range of ECM containers (AN/ALQ-87, -101, -119) and the possibility of mounting operational types of guided missiles (e.g. AIM-4D).

The kit emphasizes the internal architecture: details of the cockpit, avionics, access panels and internal shafts are reproduced so that the technical elements of the Phantom can be opened and exposed. Parts and assembly options allow for realistic representation of specific operational configurations without the need for extensive scratchbuilding. Thanks to careful research and precision molding of parts, this kit offers excellentfor modelers focused on engineering, detailed dioramas, or displaying the elaborate internal structure of an aircraft.

The package does not include the paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
