1/48 F4U-1A Corsair double-sided fit and self adhesive express mask for Magic Factory
ASK mask in 1/48 scale for the F4U-1A Corsair from Magic Factory, made in a double-sided self-adhesive Express Fit version. It masks the windscreen and canopy inside and out and adds ring masks.
ASK develops this set as its own design, matched to the parts of the Magic Factory F4U-1A Corsair kit in 1/48 scale. Sheet ASK 200-M48326 from the SCALE MASK range contains the shaped pane masks 4–10, a further group of shaped masks 16–23, the small masks 11 and 12, the large ring masks 14 and the smaller ring masks 15; the double-sided layout thus keeps the canopy frames clean when viewed from inside the cockpit.
The new two-frame canopy typical of the F4U-1A replaced the heavily framed early “birdcage” on the Corsair. Together with the raised seat and a lengthened tailwheel strut, it improved the pilot’s view; these aircraft also had improved undercarriage oleo struts that eliminated bouncing on deck landings. The one-sided version of the set is 200-M48325.
