1/48 Harrier GR1/GR3
The Kinetic 1/48 Harrier GR1/GR3 is a model of a British perpendicular take-off and landing attack aircraft, deployed during the Cold War and in the Falklands War. The package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
The Hawker Siddeley Harrier GR1 was the world's first mass-produced aircraft with vertical and short take-off and landing (V/STOL) capability. It became a symbol of the technological breakthrough of the late 1960s, thanks to the unique Rolls-Royce Pegasus engine, which allowed the nozzles to be deflected. In the British Air Force, it served primarily as a tactical attack machine, capable of operating from makeshift airfields and small areas near the front line.
The upgraded Harrier GR3 variant was equipped with more advanced avionics, improved navigation and sensors, which expanded its operational capabilities. The GR3 was deployed during the 1982 Falklands conflict, where it demonstrated its ability to operate in extreme conditions and provide direct air support to British troops.
The 1/48th scale Kinetic kit allows you to build both an early version of the GR1 and an upgraded GR3. It features a detailed cockpit, realistic surfaces with fine detailing and a variety of British Air Force camouflage schemes. The model will delight both those interested in iconic Cold War machines and collectors of machines associated with the Falklands War.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
