1/48 Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIA (HASEGAWA)
Hobby 2000 1/48 Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIa is a British WWII fighter aircraft equipped with a more powerful engine and improved armament compared to the original Mk.The kit includes Hasegawa plastic parts and decals for an authentic finish. The package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
The Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIa was the first production version of the Mk.II series, entering service in 1940. The aircraft was equipped with a Rolls-Royce Merlin XX engine with a two-speed supercharger, which improved its performance in climb and at higher altitudes. The armament consisted of eight 7.7 mm Browning machine guns, as in the previous version, but the airframe structure was strengthened and adapted for further possible modifications. The Mk.IIa served in both home defence and overseas RAF and Commonwealth units, where it performed fighter and escort duties.
