1/48 N1K1-Ja Shiden double-sided mask self-adhesive pre-cutted for Tamiya
ASK masks for the Tamiya N1K1-Ja Shiden plastic kit in 1/48 scale are double-sided, self-adhesive and pre-cut. EXTERIOR and INTERIOR sections cover the canopy panes inside and out, WHEELS the wheels.
The set is an ASK original, developed specifically for the 1/48 N1K1-Ja Shiden kit from Tamiya. Sheet ASK 200-M48087 from the SCALE MASK range contains an EXTERIOR section with masks 1–17 for the outer side of the windscreen and framed canopy, an INTERIOR section with masks 18–34 for the inner side of the frames, and a WHEELS section with four circular A4 wheel masks. The one-sided version is 200-M48086.
The Shiden was created by turning a floatplane fighter into a land-based one and kept its mid-wing layout with a long, failure-prone undercarriage. The shortcomings were cured only by the N1K2-J, whose wing was moved down. The mask shapes follow the clear parts of the Tamiya N1K1-Ja Shiden kit in 1/48 scale.
