1/48 P-40 Tomahawk recommended for Airfix
The Yahu Model Curtiss P-40B Tomahawk is a 1:72 scale colour-printed etched cockpit instrument panel designed for use with Airfix kits. The add-on improves cockpit detail and replaces the standard plastic part with a more accurate and realistic design with marked instruments and dials.
The Curtiss P-40B Tomahawk was an early version of the P-40 fighter, one of the most widely used American fighters of World War II. The B version was an improvement on the original P-40 and was deployed by US forces just before the US entered the war and in the early months of combat. Tomahawks served not only in the USAAC (later USAAF), but also in the British RAF, Soviet VVS and other Allied air forces. The cockpit of the P-40B was equipped with standard instrument panels typical of American fighters of the time, with a layout that allowed the pilot to quickly orient himself during combat.
Yahu Model's etched instrument panel replaces the plastic part from the Airfix kit with a more detailed metallic design with color printing of the individual instruments and dials. Thanks to the etching process, the panel achieves finer lines and a more accurate representation than standard injection-moulded plastic. The colour printing adds a realistic look without the need to hand paint small details. The add-on is designed for modelers who want to increase the level of cockpit detail without complex modifications.
