MiniArtP-47N-1RE Thunderbolt (Advanced Kit)is a detailed kit of the final development version of the famous "Thunderbolt", which was created for long-range escort and fighter-bomber missions in the Pacific theater. The N-1RE variant introduced a new wing with a larger span, squared-off ends and increased fuel supply, while retaining the typical robustness of construction and powerful armament of previous versions. The kit features fine engraving and riveting, a fully detailed cockpit, the option of open or closedoverlay, etched parts (including belts) and clear parts for the cockpit and lights, complete with decals for 3 marking options.
The Republic P-47N Thunderbolt represented the final and most advanced developmental branch of the entire Thunderbolt family, modified to meet the needs of theto meet the demands of long-range, hard-hitting deployments as a fighter escort and fighter-bomber. In the Pacific theater, where distances between bases and targets often determined the type's utility, the emphasis on air endurance and the ability to carry armament and equipment without losing the typical P-47 "toughness" made sense. In doing so, the N version retained what the Thunderbolt was famous for: rugged construction, high combat endurance, and heavy armament suitable for both aerial combat and strikes on ground targets.
The N-1RE variant is recognizable at first glance thanks to a new wing with a larger span and square ends, designed for better range and higher fuel capacity. It is this change that gives the "enka" a different silhouette from the older P-47D and also explains why the P-47N is so popular among Thunderbolt fans: It is a machine that combines the familiar, muscular character of the P-47 with clearly visible elements of late-war modernization. For modellers, it's the perfect combination - an iconic type, but in a variant that looks fresh and different.
The MiniArt (Advanced Kit) kit focuses on a high level of detail and "modeler appreciative" surface treatment: It features finely reproduced riveting and paneling on all surfaces and a fully finished cockpit including side consoles, instrument panel and seat. There is the option to build the cockpit overlay open or closed, etched parts for the belts and fine detailing, and clear parts for the cockpit and lights. Decals for 3 marking options are included , so you can choose a specific machine and customize the final look and patina accordingly.
