1/48 Palouste Mk.101/100 – Jet Air Starter Trolleys and Airborne Podl
Palouste Mk.101/102 – Jet Air Starter Trolleys and Airborne Pod is a 1/48-scale resin accessory set from CMK.
The starter was used to start jet aircraft engines using a high-pressure, high-velocity airflow generated by a small turbine concealed within the starter’s body. This uniquely designed starter was aerodynamically fairing-covered and resembled an auxiliary fuel tank in shape. For this reason, it was transported by air on a sling. This ensured that aircraft (of various RAF and FAA types—the starter was also used by the U.S. Navy) could operate even from unequipped airfields. The starter was equipped with attachable wheels for movement on the airfield. The kit includes photo-etched parts and decals and allows the large cover at the rear to be opened.
