1/48 Spitfire F Mk.IX OVERTREES
Eduard 1/48 Spitfire F Mk.IX OVERTREES is a plastic kit of the British fighter. Sprues A1, B, E1, F1 and G1 only, no decals or instructions. Paints and glues needed for assembly are not included.
The Spitfire Mk.IX combined the Mk.V airframe with the two-stage supercharged Merlin 60-series engine and from 1942 gave the RAF an equal match for the Fw 190A. The F Mk.IX designation applied to aircraft with the Merlin 61 or 63 rated for medium altitudes; the LF version was optimised for low and the HF for high altitude.
On the box label Eduard calls this set Spitfire Mk.IXc early version and lists sprues A1, B, E1, F1 and G1 from parts set 8280, i.e. the early Mk.IX with the C-type wing. Decals, instructions, photo-etch and masks are not included. Paints and glues needed for assembly are not included.
