The casting carries the cockpit door with a detailed inner face, stiffeners and latches, together with small additional parts.

The small hinged door on the port side of the cockpit was a typical Spitfire feature that made it easier for the pilot to climb in. The Mk.IX appeared in 1942 as an answer to the Fw 190. The accessory is intended for the 1/48 Airfix kit.
