1/48 Spitfire Mk.XVI Bubbletop w/ early wings OVERTREES
Eduard 1/48 Spitfire Mk.XVI Bubbletop w/ early wings OVERTREES is a plastic kit of the British fighter. Plastic sprues with early wings only, no decals or instructions. Paints and glues needed for assembly are not included.
The Spitfire Mk.XVI was essentially a Mk.IX with the licence-built Packard Merlin 266, produced at Castle Bromwich from 1944. The Bubbletop version had a cut-down rear fuselage and a teardrop canopy for a better rearward view. The sprues represent the version with early wings.
For this set Eduard states that it contains plastic sprues only, with neither decals nor instructions; the OVERTREES line has no photo-etch or masks either. The version with late wings is offered by the sister set 8295X, so both Mk.XVI variants can be built. Paints and glues needed for assembly are not included.
Nationality: United Kingdom. Period: World War II.
