1/48 UH-60A Black Hawk with crew

The UH-60 Black Hawk entered service with the U.S. Army in 1979 as the successor to the legendary UH-1 Iroquois ("Huey") and quickly became the primary type of tactical transport helicopter. The first production version was the UH-60A, which laid the foundation for a whole family of machines - from transport and medical variants to electronic warfare machines and naval anti-submarine and anti-submarine versions. The Black Hawk was designed with flexibility in mind: by changing the armament, cargo bay layout or instrumentation, the machine can be quickly adapted to a specific mission. The UH-60's combination of performance, reliability and versatility has led to the UH-60 being deployed in more than 30 countries across Europe, Asia, South America and other regions. In total, approximately 5,000 units of all versions have been produced, making it one of the most successful modern helicopters.

A typical Black Hawk crew consists of two pilots and a flight mechanic; when deck armament (such as hexagonal machine guns) is used, one or two gunners join the crew. Each member has a clearly defined role: the pilots ensure safe flight and mission accomplishment, the flight engineer is responsible for the maintenance and overall readiness of the machine, and the gunners operate the weapons systems. This crew structure is interesting to modelers because it allows them to create a vivid scene with a realistic cockpit and cargo hold.

The 1:48 scale ICM kit offers detailed treatment of both the helicopter itself and the crew figures, allowing the model to be built either as a display piece with the doors closed or as an open scene with the interior and figures in action visible. The 1:48 scale provides ample room for subtle highlighting of panel joints, surface wear and operational details typical of heavily used machines - from dust and mud to scuffs and operating fluid leaks. The package does not include paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
