1/72 AH-1Q/S Cobra US Army&Turkey
Special Hobby's 1/72 scale model of the AH-1Q/S Cobra US Army & Turkey represents the iconic attack helicopter used by the US Army and Turkish Air Force. The Q and S versions were deployed during the 1970's and 80's and represented the more developmentally advanced variants of the original AH-1 type. The kit features detailed plastic parts, armament and decals for both US and Turkish machines. The package does not include the paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
The Bell AH-1 Cobra was the world's first specially designed attack helicopter. The AH-1Q version was modified to carry TOW missiles, greatly increasing its effectiveness against armoured targets. The subsequent AH-1S version brought a more powerful engine, improved avionics and armour. Both variants played a significant role during the Cold War, particularly in the US Army.
The AH-1Q/S helicopters were also exported to Turkey, where they served in various units of the armed forces and took part in counter-terrorism and border defence operations.
