The de Havilland DH.94 Moth Minor was a light two-seat civil aircraft designed by the British de Havilland Aircraft Company in the mid-1930s as an affordable and economical alternative for private pilots and flight schools. The design was based on the proven concept of the "Moth" family - a low-flying canvas-covered wooden airframe, easy to maintain and pleasant to fly. The Moth Minor was smaller and cheaper than previous types in the series, making it attractive to the civilian market at a time when private flying was beginning to spread to the wider public. It was produced in two main variants: an open version with a tandem seating arrangement and a closed Coupé version with a covered cockpit for two side-by-side. With the outbreak of the 2. World War II, civilian production ceased and many machines were mobilized for military purposes - mainly for pilot training and liaison flights within the Royal Air Force and other allied air forces.

For modellers, the DH.94 Moth Minor represents an interesting type from the "golden age" of light flying, when design focused on simplicity, reliability and accessibility. Special Hobby's 1:72 scale kit captures the distinctive lines of this machine, but the standard plastic wheel parts can lack the finesse of detail required by more challenging projects. This is where the CMK kit comes in, with 3D printed wheels with circumferential tread tyres - a typical pattern used on light aircraft of the time. This tread pattern not only increases the visual fidelity of the model, but also allows the character of the model to be better captured when photographed or displayed.

Working with 3D printed resin parts requires careful removal of support structures, surface cleaning and possibly light sanding before installation. The wheels should be painted with a base colour to match the rubber (usually dark grey to black) and the tread highlighted with a dry brush or pigments depending on the chosen degree of wear. The Moth Minor was typically driven on grassy areas or smaller airfields, so natural contamination includes dust, grass and light traces of use. The kit is compatible with both the Special Hobby DH.94 Moth Minor and DH.94 Moth Minor Coupé kits.
