1/72 E16A1 Zuiun Weapons
Hobby 2000 1/72 E16A1 Zuiun Weapons 3D-print is a set of 3D-printed armament accessories for a 1:72 scale model of the Japanese seaplane reconnaissance aircraft E16A1 Zuiun. The set includes detailed replicas of bombs, torpedoes and other external weapon systems used by this type during World War II. The accessories are designed to enhance standard kits and increase the historical accuracy of the model. The package does not include the paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
The Aichi E16A Zuiun (Allied codename: "Paul") was a Japanese seaplane reconnaissance aircraft with bombing capability that served in the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II. The machine was designed as a modern deck reconnaissance aircraft for catapult launching from warships, particularly battleships and heavy cruisers. Unlike earlier types, the Zuiun had superior performance and the ability to carry a variety of armament, from reconnaissance bombs to torpedoes to depth charges for anti-submarine warfare. In practice, however, the type appeared relatively late in the war and its deployment was limited, due in part to the rapid decline of Japanese large vessels capable of carrying it.
The 1:72 scale Hobby 2000 kit offers 3D printed armament accessories that allow modelers to equip the E16A1 Zuiun with more accurate and detailed weapon systems than are usually included in standard plastic kits. 3D printing technology allows fine details such as hinges, fuses, aerodynamic elements and the surface texture of bombs and torpedoes to be captured. These accessories are suitable for more advanced modelers who want to increase the authenticity of their model and get closer to the historical appearance of the operational aircraft.
