1/72 F7F-2D Tigercat
Fly Model 1/72 F7F-2D Tigercat is a 1/72 scale plastic kit of American twin-engine fighter aircraft. The F7F-2D variant has been specially rebuilt for unmanned target flying and training, making this model an interesting piece of post-war history.
The Grumman F7F Tigercat twin-engine fighter was developed for the US Navy during World War II, but was never again involved in combat. Due to its high speed, powerful armament and excellent flight characteristics, it became an important type of the post-war period, also used by the US Marine Corps.
A special variant of the F7F-2D was created by modifying production aircraft, which were equipped with remote control and served as unmanned targets in training and testing. These machines helped in the development of new weapons and provided valuable experience in the use of drones at a time when it was a completely pioneering technology.
The 1/72nd scale Fly Model kit offers the opportunity to build this lesser known but historically significant type of Tigercat. The model features fine surface details, authentic shapes and decals to match the original machines. It is an ideal choice for modelers who want to add an interesting specialized version of an American fighter aircraft to their collection.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
