The Sword SW72088SE Fairey Gannet AEW.3 is a complete 1/72-scale plastic model kit of the British airborne early warning aircraft. The SE edition expands on the basic model with polyurethane parts for the radar operators’ cockpit interior, which are an important part of the equipment in this three-seat variant.
The Gannet AEW.3 served with the Royal Navy as an early warning radar platform. It is characterized by its bulky fuselage, a radar dome beneath the fuselage, a pair of counter-rotating propellers, and a folding wing designed for operation from aircraft carriers.
