1/72 Nakajima B6N2 Model 12 Tenzan
Hobby 2000 1/72 Nakajima B6N2 Model 12 Tenzan is a Japanese WWII torpedo bomber. The B6N2 version was deployed from 1944 and participated in the final phase of the war in the Pacific. The Nakajima B6N Tenzan, Allied code name "Jill", was the successor to the successful B5N "Kate" torpedo bomber. The new machine had a more powerful engine, better aerodynamics, and higher armament capacity. The B6N2 Model 12 version, introduced into service in 1944, was powered by a Mitsubishi MK4T Kasei 25 engine and was the most widely used variant of the type.
The B6N2 Tenzan operated primarily from land-based bases, as most Japanese carriers were already sunk by that time. It took part in major naval operations, including the Battle of the Philippine Sea and the Gulf of Leyte, where it was deployed to attack Allied ships with torpedoes and bombs.
