The Boeing P-26 "Peashooter" was the first all-metal single-plane fighter aircraft of the US Army and was one of the pioneers of modern design in the interwar period. The open cockpit, rigid landing gear and slender fuselage represented a compromise between traditional biplanes and the emergingthe next generation of fighters, while the simplicity and reliability of the P-26 allowed it to be widely used not only in the U.S. but also abroad. Export examples made their way to China and the Philippines, where they played a role in the first engagements on the brink of World War II. Peashooters in international service often carried distinctive paint schemes that emphasized their interwar character and made them attractive subjects for modelers.

The Prostějov 1/72 scale kit faithfully captures the sleek silhouette of the export version of the P-26, with its distinctive open cockpit, realistically executed fixed undercarriage and accurate engraved paneling. The model offers clean mouldings, quality moulding and markings matching internationalm operators, allowing for an eye-catching miniature of one of the most distinctive fighters of the interwar era.
