1/72 P-47C-5 "Thunderbolt"
The KPM 1/72 P-47C-5 "Thunderbolt" is a model of an early variant of the American Republic P-47 fighter aircraft, one of the most durable and powerful aircraft of World War II. The C-5 version built on the previous C-2 with minor design modifications and was deployed primarily in Europe during 1943. The kit offers accurate shapes, fine paneling and authentic details of this evolutionary modification.
The Republic P-47C-5 Thunderbolt was the next step in the development of the early P-47 variants that formed the initial backbone of American fighter units in Europe. The C-5 version featured minor design modifications, improved ergonomics, and partial avionics modifications, while retaining its rugged construction, powerful Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine, and eight-round armament. C-5 Thunderbolts participated in escort, reconnaissance and ground target attack missions, where they excelled in durability, high speed and the ability to return even heavily damaged.
The Prostějov Kovozávody 1/72 scale kit captures the characteristic lines of the C-5 version, including accurately engraved paneling, detailed cockpit, realistic landing gear and typical armament. Thanks to clean mouldings and good moulding, it allows to build a faithful miniature of the early Thunderbolt, which will complement well collections of American fighter aircraft or dioramas from the 1943 period.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
