1/72 P-51D Mustang™ - Arma Hobby

The North American P-51 Mustang is considered one of the best fighter aircraft of World War II. It was commissioned by the British Air Force and entered service in 1942. The Mustang's combination of a powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, long range and excellent flight characteristics made it a decisive machine in the struggle for air supremacy over Europe. The P-51D variant, introduced in 1944, brought a drop-top cockpit overlay, heavier armor protection, and armament of six 12.7 mm machine guns. This version was deployed en masse when escorting 8th Air Force bombers over Germany as well as in ground attacks, and also became famous in the hands of British and Polish pilots within the RAF.

Arma Hobby's 1/72nd scale kit pushes the standards in this category. It allows you to build all WWII-era P-51D variants and is the first to authentically render the characteristically blackened and smoothed wings in this scale. It features finely detailed landing gear and cockpit shafts, cleverly designed construction for ease of building, and a unique transparent mountingA clear, transparent mounting stand that helps maintain proper geometry during construction and is used later to safely store the finished model. Included are plastic parts, Techmod decals, pre-cut cab and wheel masks, clear stand, instructions with camouflage schemes and a download code for 3D printed accessories.

The model can be built in three versions: the P-51D-10-NA Mustang Lt. Clarence "Bud" Anderson (375th FG, 363rd FS, 8th AF, RAF Leiston, January 1945), P-51D-5-NA Capt. Jack Ilfrey (79th FS, 20th FG, 8th AF, RAF Kings Cliffe, 1944) or Mustang IV (P-51D-5-NT) of F/Lt Janusz Franckiewicz of 303rd RAF Squadron (Andrews Field, April 1945).

The package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
