1/72 P-51K Mustang™ - Arma Hobby
The P-51K Mustang in 1/72 scale by Arma Hobby is a variant of the legendary fighter aircraft produced at the North American Aviation plant in Dallas. This type was developed as an evolution of the P-51D and took part in combat in both Europe and the Pacific, escorting USAAF and RAF bombers and participating in long escort missions over Japan. The new 2025 form offers excellent detail, precision and configuration options, including the distinctive 'Dallas Hood' cockpit overlay and a choice of Aeroproducts and Hamilton Standard propellers. Included in the package are Techmod decals with three historic schemes, cockpit and wheel masks, a stand for mounting and transport, and a download code for 3D accessories.
The P-51K Mustang was a variant of the famous American fighter aircraft, produced at the North American Aviation plant in Dallas as a follow-on to the P-51D. It was created out of necessity due to a shortage of Hamilton Standard propellers and was equipped with an alternative Aeroproducts propeller. Nevertheless, the P-51K quickly proved itself in combat and became a symbol of the flexibility of the American war industry.
The P-51Ks participated in operations on two major fronts in World War II - in Europe, escorting USAAF bombers over Germany and flying the colorRAF as the Mustang Mk IVa, while in the Pacific they supported Allied forces in the Philippines and from the island of Iwo Jima accompanied B-29 bombers in raids on Japan.
Among the hallmarks of Dallas production was the "Dallas Hood" type cockpit overlay, which was more convex than the standard Inglewood factory overlay, and provided better rearward visibility. In addition, in many units, the aircraft were later converted back to the Hamilton Standard propeller, making the performance differences between the D and K versions virtually equal.
The new 1/72nd scale Arma Hobby kit is based on all-new molds for 2025 and offers an exceptionally accurate rendition of the "Dallas" version of the Mustang. The wings have smooth panels to match the real design, the fuselage and details are handled with realistic surfaces and excellent geometry. The model allows you to build the machine from European and Pacific battlefields and choose between different propellers, cockpit overlays and antennas.
Included in the package are Techmod decals for three historical schemes (USAAF Europe, USAAF Pacific, RAF), masks for the cockpit and wheels, a stand for assembly and transport, detailed instructions and a code to download optional 3D accessories.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
