1/72 PBJ-1J Mitchell
Hobby 2000 72090 PBJ-1J Mitchell 1/72 is a plastic kit of the US Marine Corps bomber. It includes decals for four aircraft from 1944–1945. Paints and glue required for assembly are not included.
PBJ-1J was the designation of the B-25J Mitchell in US Navy and US Marine Corps service. The aircraft flew mainly with Marine bombing squadrons (VMB), which used them in the Pacific.
According to the manufacturer’s painting guide, the Hobby 2000 kit in 1/72 scale includes decals for four PBJ-1Js: an aircraft of an unidentified training unit in Hawaii (1944), BuNo 64951 of VMB-611 (Moret Field, Philippines, August 1945), a VMB-614 aircraft from MCAS Cherry Point, USA (1945), and BuNo 35218 from Emirau Island (1945).
The blue naval camouflage schemes set the model apart from the olive drab Army Mitchells and make a good addition to a 1/72 collection of Marine Corps aircraft.
Paints and glue required for assembly are not included.
Nationality: USA. Period: World War II.
