The aircraft
The Blériot-SPAD 510 was the last biplane fighter of the French Air Force. The prototype flew in 1933, and although the Dewoitine 500 monoplane won the competition, 60 SPAD 510s were ordered. From 1937 they equipped the 7e Escadre at Dijon, where Morane 405s began replacing them in 1938. The remaining aircraft then served with other units and at schools.
