1/72 Spitfire LF Mk.Vb "Clipped wing"

The Supermarine Spitfire LF Mk.Vb was developed as a modification of the classic Mk.Vb, designed for low-altitude combat, where much of the Allied operations of 1943 took place. The LF ("Low Flight") version used the Merlin 45M engine optimized for low-levels and, thanks to the shortened - so-called. The airplane's clipped wingtips gave it better taxiing speed and greater agility in close combat. This variant appeared in a number of RAF squadrons in Britain and in overseas theatres of operation and represented a rapid response to tactical developments in air combat.

The Prostějov Metalworks 1/72 scale kit provides a faithful representation of the Spitfire LF Mk.Vb with a specific "clipped wing" wing, precise proportions, fine engraved paneling and detailed cockpit. The model captures the distinctive B-type armament and the typical appearance of this dynamic variant, which became popular with pilots for its flight characteristics. Thanks to the clean mouldings and high quality moulding, the kit allows easy construction and creates realistic miniature of the aircraft, which is one of the most interesting evolutionary branches of the famous Spitfire.
