1/72 Spitfire Mk.Vb "Over Matla"
KPM 1/72 Spitfire Mk.Vb "Over Malta" is a model of one of the most famous versions of the legendary British fighter aircraft, which played a key role in the defence of Malta during 1942. The Mk.Vb version, with its B-wing and distinctive armament, was one of the RAF's main machines deployed against German and Italian raids. The kit offers accurate shapes, fine paneling and authentic markings associated with Maltese operations.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb was one of the most widespread and important variants of the famous British fighter of World War II. Armed with a pair of 20mm guns and four machine guns, it represented an ideal compromise between firepower, performance and agility. It was the Mk.Vb version that played a vital role in the defence of the island of Malta, one of the most strategic points in the Mediterranean in 1942. The Spitfires often operated at the limit of their capabilities - from makeshift airfields, in extreme heat and during permanent air raids - and yet they were able to slow down the enemy offensive significantly.
