1/72 Spitfire Mk.VIII OVERTREES
Eduard 1/72 Spitfire Mk.VIII OVERTREES is a plastic kit of the British Spitfire Mk.VIII fighter. OVERTREES edition: plastic sprues only, without decals or instruction sheet. Paints and glues needed for assembly are not included.
The Spitfire Mk.VIII used the same Merlin 60-series engine as the stopgap Mk.IX, but it had a strengthened airframe, a retractable tailwheel and additional fuel tanks in the wing. Unlike the Mk.IX it served mostly outside Western Europe – in the Mediterranean, in South East Asia and with the Royal Australian Air Force in the South West Pacific.
The OVERTREES box holds only the plastic sprues of the Eduard kit, with no decals, instructions, photo-etch or masks. Eduard releases these cheaper editions occasionally and for a limited time. They appeal to modellers who want to build a Mk.VIII in their own markings, such as an RAAF aircraft.
The 1/72 scale suits modellers who collect the development stages of the Spitfire. Paints and glues needed for assembly are not included.
Nationality: United Kingdom. Period: World War II.
