1/72 Su-35S Flanker E Multirole Fighter Air-to-surface version

The Sukhoi Su-35S (Flanker-E in NATO code) is a modern Russian Generation 4++ multirole fighter aircraft, which was developed as a deeply revised evolution of the proven Su-27 family. It differs from its predecessor by significantly improved avionics, a new radar with passive electronically deflected Irbis-E beam, AL-41F1S thrust vectoring engines and a strengthened airframe that allows it to carry a wide range of armament. The machine is designed as a versatile platform capable of gaining air superiority, as well as conducting strikes against land and sea targets. It entered service with the Russian Air Force in 2014 and gradually became one of the carrier types of the Russian Aerospace Forces. The Su-35S has been deployed in combat in Syria, among other places, and later in other conflicts, where its capabilities were tested in real conditions.

The "Air-to-surface" version represents a configuration of the aircraft aimed at strikes against ground targets, i.e. with sub-systems of both guided and unguided air-to-ground class assets. The Su-35S can carry a combination of Ch-29, Ch-31, Ch-59 cruise missiles, guided and unguided bombs and unguided missile containers, supplemented by short- and medium-range air-to-air missiles for self-defence. It is the ability to tailor the armament to the specific mission that makes the Flanker-E a typical example of a modern multi-role fighter, where the line between the fighter and strike roles is blurred.
