The Supermarine Spitfire PR Type A, B and E were the first specialised reconnaissance versions of the famous British fighter aircraft, created to meet the requirements of the Photographic Reconnaissance Group led by F. S. Cotton - hence the nickname "Cotton Club". These machines, deployed in 1939-1940, were modified by removing the armament, installing cameras and extending the range with additional fuel tanks. The planes operated undercover and took pictures of German targets in the early months of the war.

IBG's 1/72 scale kit offers variants of these key reconnaissance machines, including fine detail and authentic shapes. The model includes accurately rendered plastic parts and camouflage schemes reflecting the various phases of deployment of these unarmed aircraft in the 1939-1940 period.

This is a unique addition to any aviation or RAF history fan's collection, focusing on a lesser known but very important chapter of the war in the air.

The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
