IBG's Supermarine Spitfire PR Type A/B/E in 1/72 scale is an early reconnaissance version of the 1939-1940 British fighter aircraft known as the "Cotton Club", with distinctive equipment and camouflage. The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
The Supermarine Spitfire PR Type A, B and E were the first specialised reconnaissance versions of the famous British fighter aircraft, created to meet the requirements of the Photographic Reconnaissance Group led by F. S. Cotton - hence the nickname "Cotton Club". These machines, deployed in 1939-1940, were modified by removing the armament, installing cameras and extending the range with additional fuel tanks. The planes operated undercover and took pictures of German targets in the early months of the war.
