Academy USN SBD-2 "Midway" is a 1:48 plastic kit of the Douglas SBD Dauntless dive bomber. This boxing focuses on early-war SBD-2 aircraft and includes decals for three specific options: VMSB-241 at the Battle of Midway in June 1942, VB-2 during the "Hit and Run" raids in March 1942, and a pre-war VB-2 aircraft in silver finish from January 1941.

The kit is based on Accurate Miniatures molds. Inside are six grey sprues, one clear sprue, a photo-etched fret with seat belts and buckles for both seats, a masking set for the canopy, and decals with stencils and three marking options.

Features include parts for an open or closed canopy, optional open or closed dive flaps, and bomb load consisting of one 1,000 lb bomb plus two 100 lb wing bombs. Finished length is 216 mm.
