Adeptus Mechanicus: Ironstrider

The Ironstrider Ballistarius is a fearsome mobile artillery platform of the Adeptus Mechanicus faction. With its distinctive appearance as a bipedal walking tank, it strikes fear into the hearts of its enemies on the battlefield at first glance. Its gyroscopically balanced design, combined with data links that provide the machine with comprehensive knowledge of its enemies, ensures deadly accuracy. This would long since have become the stuff of legend — if only anyone had ever survived to tell the tale.

As a mobile artillery weapon platform, the Ironstrider Ballistarius can be armed with one of two weapon variants: a twin-barrelled Cognis autocannon or a twin-barrelled Cognis lascannon. The model’s split legs can be arranged in two different configurations, whilst the suspensors can be positioned at various angles. The entire surface of the machine is teeming with sensors, data-collection modules and antennas, which lend the model a wealth of technological detail. The gunner can choose from four head variants — three with a hood and one with a breathing apparatus.

This multi-part plastic kit contains 80 components and provides all the parts needed to assemble either one Ironstrider Ballistarius or one Sydonian Dragoon. Thanks to the wide range of leg, weaponry and head options, it offers considerable freedom for customisation and personalised styling.

The model is designed in 1:56 scale, which is the standard for the Warhammer 40,000 game, and makes an attractive addition for players of Adeptus Mechanicus armies as well as for collectors and miniature painters. The pack contains a small decal sheet and an oval base measuring 105 × 70 mm. The set does not include the paints or glue required for assembly.
