This specific material imitates the dense green clumps and carpets that typically form in northern woodlands, at the base of trees, on old wooden boreholes or in the crevices of abandoned concrete buildings.

Historically, this product is invaluable in the construction of dioramas from dense European forest environments (e.g. Hürtgen Forest), for depicting the wreckage of technology left to nature, or for detailing urban ruins where moisture and lack of maintenance lead to rapid vegetation growth. The dark green hue evokes depth and healthy growth in rich ecosystems.

Uses and tips for a professional result

This material is designed to be flexible and intuitive to work with.

• Versatile application: moss can be applied to a wide range of surfaces - from plastic to wood to plaster casts of buildings. It is ideal for "overgrowing" details on abandoned vehicles, where moss often covers hoods or around seals.

• Forfixing, we recommend using white glue (PVA) or AK118 Gravel & Sand Fixer. The material can be applied in small pieces to create isolated clumps, or in continuous layers to mimic moss carpets.

• We recommend combining Dark Green with Light Moss to create natural colour variation. The material can also be further dyed with acrylic paints after drying or tinted with washes if you want to achieve specific shades (e.g. brownish, drying moss).
