Information about the original:
The Supermarine Swift was originally designed as an interceptor fighter, but it was most successful in low-altitude photographic reconnaissance. This was also its primary role in Germany during the 1950s. With its sturdy airframe and good speed even at low altitudes, it excelled in this role and often outperformed its NATO contemporaries in aerial reconnaissance competitions.
